Hair product review - Aussie & John Frieda

So a little while ago I picked up John Frieda radiant red conditioner, Aussie take the heat 3 minute miracle and Aussie colour mate shampoo from asda. I used them all for the first time today as I wanted to make sure my hair was in a decent condition before I tried any product for review. I got all three for £10 on a deal but in fact you can buy all 3 for £10 if you do them outside of the 'deal'!

I started by wetting my hair and I couldn't believe the amount of hair dye that was coming out! I used the shampoo and fell in love. At first you get blown away with the beautiful smell, it's hard to explain but it is sort of fruity I think. I washed my hair rinsed it and washed it and again and rinsed it. At this point my hair is normally really dry and feels like I've just bleached it or something but I was shocked to find out my hair felt like I had just conditioned it. So I am not sure if it is just because my hair is healthy or because of the shampoo but for the sake of argument I'll say it is down to the shampoo because like I said my hair normally goes super dry after shampooing. I could have easily finished my hair wash then and not condition! My hair really does feel like I've had a deep clean, like I am just been to the hair dressers.

I then used John Frieda's conditioner. I was mildly surprised that it was red in colour and looked a little like hair dye. I was a little hesitant to put it in my hair when it looked so much like hair dye. Because my hair was already feeling pretty perfect I wasn't expecting much from this but it helped loads, my hair goes super curly when I condition well and my hair did. So anyway this really helped my ends, they are pretty dead as I've not had a cut in a little while (due to it being about £30 just for a cut) and they didn't feel so dry after using this. After the rinse a load of red came out my hair. I am not sure if it was due to the colour of the conditioner or because my hair dye was still running.

After I used the Aussie 3 minute miracle. I WISH I HADN'T! It all started off well... I put loads of my roots and my fringe because I have the straighteners there the most and waited 4 minutes and not the three. I am not sure if that is why things went wrong. My hair felt beautiful still till I rinsed my hair and it felt dry, thin and unhealthy, it felt all dead. It was like I had gone back to square one. I won't bother using it again. I don't want to waste my time each time I wash my hair for my hair just to feel all wiry again. I wouldn't recommend this product to ANYONE. I MAY try it again but I doubt it will do anything. I am going to read some reviews now and see if anyone else is having the same problem.

Overall, I'd highly recommend Aussie's colour mate shampoo & John Frieda's conditioner to anyone with dyed hair who needs a healthy boost to their hair but I would tell people to stay away from Aussie's 3 minute miracle!

  1. I always see Aussie products in the shops and have heard that it's really good but I find them quite expensive, maybe I should just treat myself and give them a go!
