Visit to the MAC Store

Following up from my last post about shopping in Oxford Street here is my post about going to the MAC store.

As you know I went to the MAC store yesterday and it was the first time I've bought something directly from MAC rather than online. My friend and I walked in and looked around a little. I was looking at the lipsticks, I said to myself "If I pick the Russian Red shade out of all these colours, I deserve it today" and I couldn't find it! I'll tell you more on that story in a moment.

After a while I spotted a free MUA, she was very lovely. She asked me what I was looking for, of course I said foundation and she asked me what skin type I was. I am normally 'normal' but during the winter months I go between normal and dry, I am yet to find the correct moisturiser for my skin this winter. She then asked me what type of foundation I wanted. I wasn't sure, I was open to anything as long as it was going to do the job. She then said if she were me she wouldn't even bother with foundation, she'd just use moisturiser and thing else as I have such clear skin. She also said I don't need a full coverage because of this. She prepared my face using Mac mist, MAC moisturiser and MAC Primer and she got called away to fix something on the till so handed me over to someone else. She did my foundation, used some concealer and some skin finish. We also had a little chat while doing so and I ended up buying the Pro long wear foundation. While she was doing it another MUA came and picked up the Russian Red lipstick from the stand. That's where it was hiding, the whole reason I couldn't find the shade I so desired.

    1. I mix it with my Benefit or it would be too much.

  2. Aww Charlene you're so pretty and I love your tinsel crown :D My mum always used to make them for me when I was little.

I've never, ever bought any foundation from MAC before. I tend to use Rimmel mostly just because it sinks into my skin really nicely and matches my skin tone perfectly. Maybe I should give this a go though? What do you think?

    1. Thank you :)
I'd 100% recommend it. It is a little pricey but you hardly use any. You can always go in store and ask them to try it on you and if you like it buy it, if not you don't have to. x

  3. The foundation looks really good on you! MAC foundation is one of the best so you've got a winner there. I think the key to a lovely looking foundation is a good primer xx

  4. I haven't tried the MAC primer, I use Benefit's POREfessional, which is divine. I don't tend to wear foundation either, just primer, moisturiser and a touch of powder. You look lovely!
