Interview Week: Day 1 - Bec Boop

Day one of interview week and I'd like to introduce Bec Boop.
{Bec Boop}
Rebecca is 27 years old from Galway City in Ireland but lives in London and blogs at ‘Bec Boop’.

Questions
1. Tell us a little about yourself, what do you enjoy about life?
I’m a fashion & beauty blogger and YouTuber along with working full time as an accountant. My passion in life is being creative which my blog enables me to do. I love to be busy and working on my blog in my spare time keeps me happy. I’ve recently moved to London and am really enjoying exploring the city and hidden places. When I go back to Ireland I love nothing more than spending time with my dog Kingsley.

2. Why did you choose your blog name?
I’ve always loved Betty Boop ever since I was young so Bec Boop was the most appropriate blog name I could think of.

3. How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
I’ve been blogging for over 2 years. I started because I had lost my creative side in life while studying for my professional accounting exams and I always loved writing along with fashion and beauty so it was a way for me to continue to be creative.

4. What is your blog niche or what topics do you cover and why?
I blog about fashion and beauty including personal style, trends, product reviews and much more. I’m also starting a lifestyle feature on my blog where I’ll be writing about some topics which are quite important to me. The first one will be going live next week so keep an eye out for it.

5. What do you find most challenging about blogging about your topic?
I don’t find the topic challenging at all as I love to blog and I only blog about topics which are of interest to both myself and my readers. The challenge comes with finding the time to blog. As I work full-time as an accountant too this means I spend my full weekend preparing blog posts and youtube videos in order to have these ready for the coming week.

6. What would your advice be to newbie bloggers?
My advice would be to take your time when starting out and finding your blog niche. The blogging community is huge but there is space for everyone, you just need to find where you fit in.

7. What do you love most about where you live?
I’m from Galway city in Ireland which is my most favourite place in the world but I’m currently living in Islington in London. I’ve grown to love it here recently as I’m such a sucker for the busy busy lifestyle and Islington is one of the prettiest areas in London.

8. Three beauty items you can’t live without
Benefit Bad Gal Mascara, Clinique Even Better Foundation and Garnier Roll on Concealer.

9. How do you keep coming up with content for your blog?
It’s funny, I’ll keep my notebook with me and come up with ideas at the most random of times that I have to jot down straight away. Sometimes I have to save the subject as a draft post on my blog so I don’t forget and that forms the base for a blog post. There is so much to write about when it’s your own blog - that’s what I love.

10. What is your favourite and least favourite post that you've done and why?
My favourite post is probably this one where I explained my reasons for moving to London and it’s quite a personal one 'My 2014 Personal Blog Year In Review'. I don’t have any least favourite posts, they all mean something special to me and are representative of a learning curve in my blogging career. Although I do cringe at some of my very early blog posts, I would never dream of deleting them.

11. Have you got anything to say to new potential readers?
I’d love to welcome you over to my fashion & beauty blog and hope you draw inspiration from my posts. I aim to please my readers so please tweet me @BoopFashionista if you have any suggestions for blog posts you’d like me to produce over on Bec Boop. Happy reading.

  2. I love this post, it is so nice to get an introduction to a blogger, especially as I think most of us tend not to do these kind of posts about ourselves on our own blog.
