Marrakech day 1 ✈️

So it is officially day one in Africa and after a super long, hectic flight I am so happy to be here. I flew with EasyJet and if you didn't know their whole system went down yesterday throughout Europe. It meant even though our check-in was at 13:05 we didn't get checked in till about 15:00. They had to manually do each persons check-in with paper and pen, they even had to count each baggage once under the plane, and of course someone counted incorrectly and they had to ask everyone on the plane how much baggage they had and re count. We didn't leave Gatwick till 19:00 which was three hours and 20 minutes after our flight should have left meaning we got a free drink and snack (EU regulations) We got to our hotel around 23:00 hours and went for a little walk to McDonald's where I got a halal chicken burger meal it cost 33MAD (£2.49) which is super cheap because the same thing is about £4 in the UK.

Woke up at 10am this morning, mum had been up for a few hours but I just couldn't wake, I felt so tired which is weird because normally I'd of already been in university for an hour. I had my wash and we went for a walk for something to eat, unfortunately for us it is Eid and everything is closed so we come back to the hotel, ate some food and sat in the sun for a few hours. We then got a horse and cart to the Jemaa el Fna where we looked around for a few hours before coming back to the hotel which is where I am now.

I'm not really sure about Marrakech yet, I love Europe so much and I can't speak French so I am finding it a little difficult to speak with the locals, no one really speaks English whereas in Europe most countries speak it along with their own. The 2nd problem I am finding with Marrakech is it really dirty, I know that may sound silly to most but it smells and I feel like I need a tetanus shot just walking around the streets haha. I've been to Turkey four years in a row now and the men come on really strong when they are trying to sell you things but here it is 10x worse.
