Holiday Hair & Beauty

I've already been on three holidays this year and we are only in June with a holiday next month (20days) and my final holiday of the year in October I thought it was about time I did a holiday inspired post around hair and beauty.
Getting my hair done in Greece
Hair
When going on holiday I ALWAYS go to the hairdressers the day before or day I am going depending on my flight. I'll get a 'wash, cut & blow dry' and often a free treatment will be thrown in. This allows my hair to have the best chance when in the sun. Many people when going on holiday go for the 'beach waves' looks but my weakness is my GHD hair straighteners, I could not live without them and could easily use them twice a day. I like my hair to be nice and straight on holiday, no frizz and easy to manage as I don't have time to do my full hair routine. In an ideal world I'd love to have a fish tail plait but my hair isn't long enough at the moment after having so much cut off so I have to stick to a boring down look.
I am looking to invest in a new pair of GHDs and I've been looking at the GHD V Gold Max Styler with FREE ghd Thermal Protect Roll Bag

I have only recently been told about Kérastase and I was excited to see they do a hair after sun product. You can get Kérastase Bain Apres-Soleil 250ml from Regis Salons for £16. The benefits are that Bain Apres-Soleil eliminates the build up of protection products, sand, salt and chlorine present on the scalp allowing hair to stay beautiful, soft and colour radiant. I also get an irritated scalp when I am on holiday and would love to try Mizani Comfiderm Scalp Oil 50ml which is only £8.75 and made for Afro hair. The oil is formulated with jojoba and avocado oil. This helps to replace all the moisture that leaves your hair, it also helps towards stopping flaking and itchy scalp.

 Beauty
With all the sun my skin gets really damaged, I wouldn’t recommend it but I never wear suntan lotion till the last day of my holiday when I am now burnt and peeling and in Greece my face, for the very first time, got affected. I like the look of Sothys Micro-Gel Peeling 50ml  which is £23.50 and Sothys Hydradvance Comfort Cream 30ml which is £49. The micro-gel gently exfoliates the skin without major scraping of the outer layers while the Hydradvance Comfort Cream hydrates your skin to leave it comfortable, supple and protected around the clock.

When I am on holiday I like to keep my beauty routine to a minimum. I will go away with gel or acrylic nails, false lashes a full body wax and my eyebrows on point. I couldn't live without my pre-holiday beauty routine. It instantly makes me feel beautiful therefore boosting my confidence and allows me to wake up each day knowing I don't need to spend hours shaving, plucking and gluing.

  1. I don't go on enough holidays to have a routine for it - I'm quite envious of all your holidays, sounds like you have a lot of fun!

  5. I'll leave in the village for months so I don't plan any beauty routine. I only prepare my skin care regime :)

  6. When I'm going to a tropical place, I always pack sunblock. I've tested my skin's resilience last time I went to Singapore, a futile attempt to excuse myself from using sunscreen, and I failed.
