Beauty crackers and advent calendars 2013

Christmas is coming the geese is getting fat!

I know it is hard to believe it is that time again, we are getting closer to Christmas and I am starting to get excited. I'm not sure if I am more excited to be having a break from university (December - February) or if I'm more excited at the fact it is getting closer to the weather which is perfect for SNOW! I've been under some stress the last month which is making me ill so hopefully Christmas will help me get back on track and prepare for the new year ahead of me.

Although I passed my beauty course in 2011 I've only recently became 'girly' and got into this whole make-up, beauty thing and with new passions come new items on the wish list. I've heard a lot about beauty crackers and beauty advent calenders in the past and I am now looking to get one for myself. I've been looking around and there is so much to choose from so I thought I'd do a little post about them.

Advent calendars
Benefit countdown to love advent calendar - £50 / £2.08 per item (24 items)
I love Benefit, I have for a while now and one of my closest girl friends works for them now which I know will fuel my obsession even more. I asked her about the calender, mainly asking 'is it worth £50!?' and  unfortunately they hadn't hit her store yet so she couldn't tell me first hand about it but said it sounds like a good idea and depends on the sizes. I think I'll go in store before I buy this so I can fully inspect it. The set includes travel sizes of: “that gal”, the POREfessional, high beam, sun beam, benetint, chachatint, posietint, ultra plush lip gloss in dandelion, ultra plush lip gloss in sugarbomb, ultra plush lip gloss in CORALista, hoola, dandelion, CORALista, ultra plush lip gloss in A-lister, BADgal lash, stay don’t stray light/medium, BADgal liner waterproof, it’s potent eye cream, girl meets pearl, total moisture facial cream, ooh la lift, horseshoe charm bracelet, star charm necklace & ribbon bow barrette.

Boots Beauty Advent Calendar - £30 / £1.25 per item (24 items)
The boots calendar was my 2nd favourite and one that I am most excited about. It is by far the cheapest and includes many amazing brands. Soap & Glory, Nails Inc, Paco Rabanne, Juicy Couture, Rimmel, Mavala, Umberto Giannini and Many More. Boot's don't give away the actual items which gives you the true suprise for the weeks leading to Christmas. Boots do say "Uncover a selection of miniature and full- sized products from our favourite beauty brands." Which excites me even more. They have some FULL SIZED items included!

YOU Beauty Advent Calendar - £49.95 / 2.08 per item (24 items)
With the YOU beauty discovery advent calendar you get 24 premium beauty and skincare products which apparently is worth over £240. They don't give away what is in the box apart from the bands Caudalie, ESPA, Dermalogica, Leighton Denny, Sisley and Stila (to name just a few) the only brand I personally know is Deralogica which is what we used in the beauty salon I worked in. There is also a £4.95 delivery charge for non-members which really makes the calendar £54.90.

CIATE Mini Mani advent calendar - £42 / £1.75 per varnish
(24 items)
I really like this Ciate advent calendar, I am not sure what I'd do with 24 nail varnishes though, I think it would do me more harm than good, I hate having loads of varnishes and not being able to decide what shade to wear. Like the others you only get 24 items, it would be nice to get a special edition shade on Christmas day. (like a glitter shade with tiny Christmas shapes) They don't have the shades written down but these are Ciate's best selling mini Paint Pots, four mini Caviar blends, and three extremely special exclusive Paint Pot glitter shades you'll not find anywhere else, ever.

Un beauty related for the kids you can get lego friends, lego star wars and lego city advent calendars! I have been looking for my little brother. You get one piece of lego each day from christmas items to figures.

Crackers
CLARINS Box of six Christmas crackers - £39 / £6.50 per cracker
At £6.50 a cracker this is perfect for little gifts at dinner. Clarins write:
"Forget measuring tapes and nail clippers, these crackers offer miniature Clarins delights like Beauty Flash Balm and Hand & Nail Treatment Cream that are sure to go down even better than a home cooked dinner." These are exclusive to Selfridges and I am going to try talk my mum into buying them this year. I am fed up of the cheap ones that you get the same rubbish items every year. I also love the brand, my beauty lecturer would tell us to use Clarins a lot.

With this cracket you get a Minty tingling lip balm & a breath freshener, perfect for that kiss under the mistle toe or kiss at the NYE countdown. It is only one 'cracker' and for only £3 it is perfect.

Debenhams write "This great value pack of bath time treats come wrapped in glittery Christmas crackers. This set includes 6 vanilla bath salts and a strawberry bath fizzer, perfect for enjoying some relaxation and a great gift idea" I love the idea of these only being £7 for 6 amazing bath bombs! I am 100% buying these. I do love a good bath time treat.
