Benefit POREfessional primer review

Benefit's The POREfessional £24.50 / 20ml*

"Quickly minimise the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skin tones and helps makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals." Benefit

I was lucky enough to win this product from Benefit's Facebook page part of their 2013 Christmas Advent. They asked who our superhero was and I said my mum said said she is porefect. A little cheesy I know but I won due to it. It came pretty quickly but I had to go pick it up at my local P/O due to the size of the box it came in. I was so shocked when I opened the box, I couldn't believe I had the full size and not a travel size/ sample.
I had been looking for a primer due to buying a new foundation and loads of beauty bloggers on Twitter had recommended it to me so I was excited to get 'stuck in'. You can click here to find out how to apply it.

When I opened it up and put a swatch on my hand I wasn't sure if it was going to work for me, it was a lot lighter than my skin tone and didn't expect it to blend well but I was mistaken, it blended so well and made my skin look pretty flawless, a little like I had slightly photoshopped my face, I could easily get away with only wearing the primer and no foundation. It blurs the pores and impurities like lines and wrinkles on the face.
I honestly believe it looks better in 'real life' than pictures, a picture I took afterwards I could see my pores but in the mirror I could not. I have pretty bad pores on my nose and this covered them right up. It left my face feeling velvetly, soft and smooth.

The main problem I found with the primer is if I don't use a make-up remover, cleanser and toner I do break out over my cheeks and this is why I haven't added any pictures for this post. I'm not happy with my skin at the moment due to it. It was fine at first, I had been wearing it on and off for three weeks with no breakout till I fell asleep with it on. I wouldn't recommend this to people who don't have a pore problem as this can make you break out.
1) Product 2) Semi rubbed in / blended 3) Completely rubbed in / blended leaving a matte finish.

Many others believe porefessional is amazing. POREfessional is the UK's best-selling primer and has many beauty awards including "Best Pore Minimising Primer" from Social and Personal 2012, "Best Porefector" from Woman and Home Beauty awards 2013 and many more.

  1. I love this product and I am only going by reviews as I have to try it, I actually got a free sample from my local boots. I am so excited to try it as I have big pores on my cheeks. Thanks for the review!

  2. What a shame it caused you a break out, sounds like it was perfect otherwise. Maybe better over the top of a foundation to create a barrier? Great win! Andrea - http://wew.lifewithliv.co.uk

  4. Its such a shame this breaks you out. For me, it's the only primer I've ever found that does what a primer is meant to.
