ASOS Curve Fit Day

I've been so excited to write this post, but I've been a little busy hence why it's taken a few days!
So the day started off with me arriving little before 9am, I sat down in the reception area with a few other girls and waited to be met by a member of the ASOS team. Once we were greeted we were taken to a large room with a massive ASOS sign, loads of cool clothes, a buffet for us. We got put into groups and the day started.

Beautiful Curve bikini top/bottoms and swimsuit
I love both the bikini and swimsuit pictured above, I'm actually ordering the swimsuit later tonight. It's a shame the bottoms of the bikini are not as high waist as I'd like them to be or I'd be buying the bikini set too!
*updated 1/09: got an email saying it is now out of stock and I got a refund/ 2nd update... I then reordered it instantly and like magic it's back in stock and been dispatched!*

Beautiful Boyfriend shirt: £28
Me in the boyfriend shirt, it's so flattering!
The boyfriend shirt above looked amazing on everyone! It's such a great fit, it's comfy and looks so stylish. As boyfriend shirts come up pretty big I tried on the size smaller than what I actually am but decided to get my actual size as it fitted a little better on the bust. I always struggle with shirts as my waist is a lot smaller than my bust but this fits perfectly, no boob gap and it isn't overly baggy. My picture really doesn't do it justice, it is so much nicer and more flattering in 'real life'.

Model at work :D
I loved the tour around the office, we got to meet a couple of the models, see them on the catwalk and even walk on the catwalk our self as well as seeing their list of models, what they look for in models and how they pick them like street scouting and festival scouting. It was great to see how it all works behind the scenes and I honestly didn't realise the turnover time from when they take the pictures, to editing to uploading them on the website for us to buy, it's all done so quickly and without that fake airbrushing you see in magazines, which is always a bonus. It was great to see how they do their catwalk videos, their 360 still shots on watches and shoes and how they differ from their UK website to their China website. I feel like a total nerd but I've never been so interested in something like this before, I was truly buzzing!
How beautiful is she?

So really the whole day was about giving our opinions on their collection, we had different departments come down to speak to us in our groups from accessories to shoes and clothing. I really enjoyed talking with the bag and swimwear girls and they're both items I'm very passionate about. I love a good bag and I love a good fatkini.  We also got to try each item on so the team could see how it fits on different body shapes/sizes and what we'd change about it. A pair of jeans I tried on were perfect, apart from the fact they only do one length which is 30", so they said they'd look into doing other leg lengths. It was nice to see a brand want to better their plus size collection and understand what we want. It's still so hard to be plus size and find beautiful clothes that are some-what cheap, fashionable and flatter your curves, lumps and bumps. To be honest since I started working for a plus size store I hardly wear clothes from other brands but now I can't wait to start loving ASOS all over again!

I met so many lovely ladies too, and a few other plus size bloggers which is always nice. I was actually really worried going on my own and I got them nervous butterflies but all the ladies were so lovely and I was super relaxed.

Have you ever been to a focus day with a fashion retailer? Would you attend events like these?

  1. This sounds like such a great day, nice to see that they have invited a mix of people along to discuss fit. Asos are always the first place I head to for Plus Size items that have impact and style.

  7. This sounded like such a fab day, I love ASOS but find a lot of the curve range is too short for me and of course the tall range doesn't always fit well as it's not aimed at curvy women.
